ELEGY

An elegy is a poetic composition in which the mourning for the loss of a loved one is expressed. In this theme by Mussia, grief is illustrated with the will to keep everything that may remain after the loss: the memory of its fragrance, the touch and so on. Protect memories as the only hope of immortality. At the same time, the song tells us of being next to the dying person, of accompanying them in the transfer.

Looking for a picture, Maria Simon and I agreed that a hug might have enough potential to represent both ideas: protection and love. I didn’t really know how to make the image. Already fed up and dazed, I took the camera and went out walking around the city without a fixed destination. In the cemetery I found an eternal hug made of marble. Sometimes, fate leads to the solution of your problems. It was curious how fate direct me to the cemetery where death is present as is the subject of the song I was trying to illustrate.

This theme is different from the others on a musical level. Not only can we hear voice and guitar, as in all the others songs; we can also enjoy bass, drums and electric guitar. For this reason, it will be a song that you will not be able to hear in Mussia’s live performances, as it sounds on the album. I encourage you to listen to the recording with headphones.
